The Standard Chartered Great City Race in 2018 was a huge success again. Every year the city of London closes streets to play host to the somewhat 6000 participants, which creates a spectacle of energy within a usually dull and focused city.
The race is 5km starting and ending on City Road and helps raise money for the charity “Seeing is believing” aiming to eradicate avoidable blindness globally.
This year the corporate event, usually compromising of the sectors such as: Accountancy, Banking, Media and Legal – had a familiar face in the Megan Markle lookalike, actress Ariel Reid.
Races like this that support good initiates and bring the community together are vital for a community’s well-being by showing we are all looking out for one another. This makes it even more special then to see celebrities attending such races.
Ariel Reid (pictured below) who starred in BBC1’s medical drama Casualty has seemingly made the transition from acting to a corporate job in the city working for one of UK’s most prestigious asset managers M&G Investments. From what it seems on her professional LinkedIn profile (also pictured below) she seems to have gracefully transitioned to city life, and being the sport enthusiast that she is, has immersed herself fully in city runs.
We hope everyone at the race had a great time and of course congratulations to this years winners (pictured below)!
